Kiwi In Halloween Town

Kiwi has been in Halloween town today. What a spooky scene. I'm not a friend of spook Kiwi not either.

Kiwi Is Having A Cola

Kiwi is having a Cola.

Simply Put

Simply put, the particular type of accuracy, due to the virtual 3D shape of the Second Life environment, I do love especially.

You could draw and move objects by hand. Or, you could detail build them by hand. Or you may fill values in text fields. As well as you can type, not only mathematical, data in scripts to personalize build objects.

This seems to be a lot of work and less a joy, but you have to keep in mind that you always can copy or copy and paste what you are doing. Even, all the work is stored on the servers. You don't need to take care for backups. How cool was this?

Well you know, when you don't have proper backups of your data you should consider not to do anything on the computer at all.

Computer side, these all were advances that you wouldn't find anywhere else. The future needs to be created.

Another Cool Thing

Another cool thing about Second Life was how real things can be moved or dropped.

This image shows a cylinder hovering over ground.
On this image the cylinder already came to rest after it was dropped.

On both images, the hemicone on the ground is not moved. It is being a reference point.

When I built some object and moved it to a position over ground it would drop and hit the ground just like in real life. You would not necessarily remember that you were on a computer.

To drop the object you need to set it physical, by the way.

Well, I am not someone who does enjoy crushing things. But, let me say, to move things is something done in a personal way.

When objects fall in Second Life it gives you an indication about how real Second Life feels. This then makes you to further research about how the Second Life world is built. Well, you will love to find out all about it. Objects in Second Life, for instance, are being build. They are not being part of the Linden Scripting Language. You see?

Well, this takes some burden away learning a programming language, doesn't it? Since, you understand that it takes much more to script than stupidly apply functions and methods and variables to any, like, thought object.

These objects that you apply an enhanced functionality are being real in Second Life.

I think that it could be crucial and the only way to advance in space. To build a star fleet and other true space ships and space docks and huge space stations, which could be inhabit forever.

The main point, one simply needs to find a way to prevent someone who might be in a rush of panic, for some reason, to drop the energy source of the ship.

It will be necessary to keep up the earth like environmental conditions on the ship. I'm wanting to go as far as to say, when you drop the energy of the ship the ship were to fall apart. Think about it. It will be true. We don't live in about 2400. Therefore it is being though to be predicted.

Anyway, is isn't being done like this on todays aircraft carriers, for instance. And it never has been done that way.

The Second Life Environment Controls

The Second Life environmental controls are a lovely feature. You see clouds structure and clear up again, as they move by. The sunsets are amazing, all the time. I need to post video, because on images I never could show how fantastic it is done.

Kiwi Is Wearing A Black Shirt Now

Kiwi is wearing a black shirt now instead of the the other freebie shirt. It has some silver accents that do shimmer a little.

To me this appearance is being a bit dark, but the accents do their part. Kiwi is liking it, I think.

A Story About Second Life

A story about Second Life I want to share. Once Kiwi teleported to somewhere in Second Life. I can't remember where that was, at all. All of a sudden there were sounds and light and right where Kiwi stood a telephone booth materialized. Just like the old red ones you'll know from London or the UK. Kiwi and I we were completely complexed and puzzled about what was going on. He then always will look towards me, for a very short moment.

Then, after a little while, a lad who was dressed like you where in the 19th century, I would say, came out of the booth. He moved like he was dizzy and I would say he fell and prior hit his head on the telephone booth.

It felt like he had been coming out of a time machine right in front of me.

By now I remember. The thing was he needed several attempts to materialize with this telephone boot, witch made the whole situation even more perplexing.

When I asked him what he would do in this telephone booth he said something like he would travel Second Life in this thing.

Well but to travel Second Life you don't need to have a telephone booth. Rather, you teleport wherever you want to.

However, he went back to this telephone booth and, by now, I never saw this guy again.

An Autumn Scene In Second Life

An autumn scene in Second Life. Kiwi is standing on the right side on the sidewalk. He's watching the fountain and the lights.

Do You Know The Folks?

Do you know the folks? On the very left there even was Tux. He is being the mascot of the Linux kernel. Next to him to the right was Salvador Dali, then Albert Einstein and of course Bob Marley. The sleepy, bored guy on the desk was unknown to me.

In the foreground, known for his back, Kiwi Seaside, of course.

The NASA Even Does Maintain Its Own Sandbox

We had to leave the region, since it was restarted. Kiwi went to the NASA region again. The NASA does maintain its own sandbox in this region.

Well, the NASA has more than this one region. There even could be other NASA sandboxes. Anyway, for educational or new research purposes, what a cool idea. Lots of research and testing has to be carried out to overcome gravity, for one. Once, this was accomplished, but, once we overcome gravity - we need to deal with weightlessness.

Well, and this surly takes some bravery. Specific bravery, unknown for any single individual who will be bound to explore our universe. It might be named an other quality of bravery versus for what it takes on earth, to make things happen. With a few exceptions probably, I mean.

The NASA In Second Life

Yesterday Kiwi and I we were in a region which was maintained by the NASA.

I wanted to take pictures, but the entire sim used to be packet with rockets and all sorts of larger objects. Therefore, I could not find a proper place where to take the pics from.

By the time I'm typing this lines what comes into my mind, I need to check if the NASA allows to take pictures on there property. Could very well be the NASA prohibit visitors to take pictures.

Well, the NASA has accomplishes astounding missions in real life. The same goes for the impressions I do have of the NASA in Second Life. Kiwi will agree, certainly.

Building And Rezzing

Wow, building and rezzing does work again. But only for one object plus. One other object I have had around prior has been deleted by me. Well, folks have strict rules in place these days.

Anyway, when Kiwi builds something he is looking like a real magician.

2011/10/24

First Time

Today, it is being my first time, that I can not rez or built an object in the sandbox.

I am being prompted of too many objects in the sim, while I am trying to rez an object. While I am trying to built a new object, I was being informed of '... doing so would overflow the parcel'.

There is something going on.

Actually, you can own virtual land in Second Life. You might be able to control the parcel in several ways. For instance, the owner could plan on something.

Perhaps, there will be some event coming up, or something.

Kiwi Was Online Today

Kiwi was online today. Otherwise,  how do I say when I log in and Kiwi comes live on the Internet? Well, another tough question to answer.

Places For Newbies in Second Life

There are being many places in Second Life which are designed for newbies, specifically. Any place you can think of like Welcome Areas, Save Hubs, Information Hubs as well as places which you are taught tutorials, among many other places. Signing up for Second Life will be truly worth it.

It's free and a joy. Just try out Second Life as you may be in the mood for some virtual reality. Just to let you know of a good way to participate in something sensible.

Hi, I Want To Show Off A Second Life Default Script

Hi, I want to show off a Second Life default script. Only to see what it looks like when it is put in the HTML <code></code>  tags.

default
{
state_entry()
{
llSay(0, "Hello, Avatar!");
}
touch_start(integer total_number)
{
llSay(0, "Touched: "+(string)total_number);
}
}

Hmmmm....., not too bad.

I Woke Up Kiwi Today

I woke up Kiwi, today in the morning. I'm still puzzled if he does known that I'm around? Well, this condition will last forever, I think. I mean, we never can meet somehow. He is being a computer man, so to speak, while I don't live in the computer. Might be any one of us is living in the Matrix but this isn't being considered being the same.

An Other Image Of The Sandbox

This is being an other image of the sandbox. It was being snapped by me, when Kiwi was flying over the sandbox. When Kiwi is flying sounds are heard. Sounds just like wind noises. They are being heard once the wind is blowing pretty heftily, by normal conditions.

In Second Life you could hear the sounds when you'd fly.

This pane Kiwi does fly towards is known as the one he stands on on previous images. On the larger version you'll have a better impression. Depending on your Internet bandwidth it might take while for the larger image to load.

Kiwi The Baby

By today, I'm noticing why I sometimes think Kiwi behaves like a baby. By now, he only was one year and one day old. Right, he still is being a baby. I signed up for Second Life Oct/18/2010.

This date was his birthdate which was shown in his profile. Well, Kiwi was so sweet. I do love him. On the newly taken image he is looking indeed like a baby does. Happy Belated Birthday Kiwi Seaside.

Please click on the image to have shown a larger version of it.

Second Life Crashed

The Second Life viewer crashed on me today. Don't know what happened, but Kiwi surely did not have a share on it.

Hmmmm, by the time that I'm typing this, who knows. Might be he manages to crash the viewer. I better will let him rest a while.

Well, I try to be kind, but he sort of feels an other way about what I do.

Meaning, he will not have an other image of him published on the blog today. This was too bad.

2011/10/17

Looks Like Sunset

It looks like sunset in the sandbox. The actual Second Life time was about a quarter to noon. I never truly figured what time it was in Second Life. Kiwi might know about it.

Again, but many cool events are going on in Second Life. A Jazz & Art Festival kicked off last weekend Oct/15/11. It will last until Nov/13/11.

Teleport Not Working

Teleporting is not working at the moment. Kiwi has to stay in Braunworth, as for now.

An other scene from Braunworth. The image center shows a billboard which does advertise going to London in Second Life.
A light dome in Second Life seen from top of it.

The light is alternating, only now a still image.

New York City Subway Station

Once Kiwi has been in a New York City subway station. With trains arriving and passengers getting on and off the trains. Well, might be they were bots. But other folks were around I chatted with, for a while.

No Fog In Braunworth This Time

There was no Fog in Braunworth this time. Last time I was in Braunworth there used to be no fog either.
But, I remember Braunworth is known for its foggy mystic mood. You really would feel the moisture. The least I thought I could feel it. To sad all the fog seems to be gone. Where will the fog have moved to?

Kiwi Sitting On A Blue Cube

This is Kiwi sitting on a blue cube we (he ) made. There was one region in Second Life I think I kinda love. But, I haven't got around there largely. It is called Braunworth and always foggy. Yes right, always a foggy veil is cloaking everything in Braunworth. It's a mystic place therefore. Let us see if we can take some images in Braunworth. We'll let you know.

2011/10/14

Art In Second Life

Art was being huge in Second Life. Anything can be done. Nothing was impossible. These are being two flexible cubes which emit light and do stick into each other.

Still In The Sandbox

There is being an other avatar with me in the sandbox today.

I asked him to take an image to put it up on my blog. He was ok with it. Snap away he said. lol

His skirt was made from a sprinkled texture and it is moving, Kiwi and I do think. Most amazing it was.

2011/10/13

I am Kiwi Seaside

Hi, I am Kiwi Seaside. Ain't I am a wonderful young avatar?

In The Sandbox

Today, Kiwi and I we spent time in the sandbox for the most part. Kiwi had to leave prior to when the region was restarted. We went to AMDs Developers Central. Grab the ATI Shirts at the first floor when you should tp. Kiwi would have a free coffee in the morning, which doesn't work no more. Same goes for a free hot dog. Kiwi could enjoy it only twice, I think.

Thinking About What To Put Up To The Blog?

Well I'm thinking about what to put up to this blog? For a while, I meant one should keep Second Life secret to oneself, personally. Meaning, not to tell anyone about the virtual reality.

Not to say about the scripts. This is being crucial really. Should you open your scripts to the public? Just like that anyone will know about your personal way to script?

Well, I need to confess I don't have some conclusive answer to this question of mine. I just keep on trying.

I personally mean rather not, but one could like describe the approach to a finally working script, as for now.

2011/10/12

Hello Everyone!

Hello Everyone!

This was a new blog about Second Life and the life on Second Life. I love to program in LSL and may use this blog to utter the one or other thought about scripting in Second Life.

Remarkable was the fact that you can really lock your scripts, which you can't do about any other virtual place. As for what I do know so far the least. Knowing this is providing me with some sort of confidence I couldn't find any better place. Second Life only wasn't virtual, but like virtual twice.
